On the campaign trail in 2020, Chris promised to promote and advocate for first responders, knowing firsthand the importance of supporting public safety. In his first term, Chris worked successfully to fully fund first responders, including law enforcement. Additionally, Chris pledged to increase transparency, believing that the government works for the people and the people should have as much knowledge as possible regarding their elected officials’ activities. Chris fulfilled this pledge by establishing:
Christ established the Communications and Government Relations Committee of which he serves as Chairman.
He has hosted monthly public comment sessions that allow citizens the opportunity to speak on any topic, and has invited guest presentations to promote different county-related groups and show the things that are happening throughout the county.
He also created the Citizen Academy to allow citizens the opportunity to take a deep dive into county operations and give them a view “behind the curtain” of County operations.
Lastly, Chris understands the impact Bidencomnics is having on working class families. That’s why he Co-authored and passed a policy to help with the current housing issues. The policy is designed to encourage the private sector to create housing options for residents that earn between approximately $35,000 - $70,000 annually. This would include a lot of our first responders, teachers, service workers, etc.
